Examples of transformation
As part of its series of Summer Courses that are held every year in Miramar Palace, the University of the Basque Country has organised Seminar F.2, which aims to exchange experiences and assessments regarding the impact of the ongoing use of ICT in schools, and how this has transformed the classroom experience. The course features a number of real examples of how the use of Information and Communication Technology has transformed schools in Donostia-San Sebastián, Urnieta, Mutriku, Lekeitio and Getxo. Education 2.0 at the #CICD
Within the framework of the joint events, one of the #CICD’s thematic areas will be focusing on the impact of the Internet on teaching and education methods. Sessions will analyse how ICT influences school and university models, and how it has changed the role of teachers. They will also present a series of best practices. One of the highlights of the conference held in the Kursaal Conference Centre will be the talk given by Jessica Yuen, the director of the Khan Academy, the world’s leading practitioner of what is known as the “flipped classroom” technique. Another prominent speaker in this session is Kirsti Lonka, one of those responsible for designing the classroom of the future in Finland. Ms Lonka will be explaining how her country is responding to the digital challenge by implementing one of the most prestigious educational models in the world. See the full programme of the #CICD
